WPSO Charges Convicted Criminal Suspect in Possession of Firearm | police fire


On July 25, Narcotics Detectives from the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office encountered and arrested Smith Road resident Jakyren Ladner. Ladner, a convicted felon, was in possession of a stolen firearm and marijuana.

Following a traffic stop inside the city of Franklinton, Ladner was discovered in the back seat of the vehicle. He refused to cooperate with detectives and initially provided a false name and date of birth, claiming to be Raymond Magee. After determining it was Jakyren Ladner, detectives arrested him and discovered the marijuana and firearm in his possession. The firearm, a 9mm Glock semi-automatic pistol, had previously been stolen from Franklinton.

Ladner was transported to Washington Parish Jail and convicted of resisting arrest by providing false information, possession of marijuana, possession of a stolen firearm and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. fire. His bail was set at $50,000. He was able to post bail and was released on July 26.
