Robert ‘Bobby’ Crimo III aka Awake the Rapper was arrested in Chicago after allegedly killing six people and injuring more than 24 during a July 4 parade. The Spotify-verified artist, who also goes by the name Bobby, was allegedly armed with a gun.

“His fan club told people to ‘stay woke’
Social media users have gotten their hands on an Awake the Rapper fan page that has reportedly been archived. “Many of these videos have been online for months. According to a fan page, Crimo stopped producing music after that,” one user said as another posted, “Robert Crimo – ‘Awake The Rapper’ – suspect from Highland Park. He’s crazy – he had a fan club – 39,000 people saw that psycho video – and nobody did anything.
The following shared, “His fan club told people to ‘stay woke’ and allegedly his social media made reference to ‘waking up the dreamers’ through a mass shooting.” And, another posted: “Looks like rap music and skateboarding are to blame for the Highland Park shooting, not the guns. Also, scales. One user tweeted: “There was a fan club page on Twitter for ‘Awake the Rapper’, the Highland Park shooter. The fan page has been removed by Twitter. Now THAT is suspicious. I found the page accidentally while looking for pictures of the monster.
