Wellesley High volunteer lacrosse coach charged with possession of child pornography


A man who served as a volunteer lacrosse coach at Wellesley High School is facing a charge of possession of child pornography, according to legal documents and authorities.

Ryan Cook was arraigned in Dedham District Court on Wednesday, where a not guilty plea was entered for him, according to the legal documents. Bail was set at $10,000 in cash. His attorney did not immediately return an email seeking comment.

Cook, 44, of Wellesley, had been a volunteer lacrosse coach at Wellesley High, officials confirmed on Thursday.

“Wellesley Public Schools is aware that a Wellesley resident, who previously volunteered on our WHS Boys Lacrosse team, has been charged with possession of child pornography by the Massachusetts State Police,” the statement said Thursday. the school district in a statement.

“As this is an ongoing investigation, the district has no further information to provide at this time,” the statement said. “We recognize that this is difficult news and, as always, our WPS counselors are available to offer support to all students at our school.”

Cook’s next court date is scheduled for September 30, records show.
