TPSO arrests several suspects linked to theft of illegal firearms and narcotics

HAMMOND, Louisiana (WAFB) – The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of several subjects related to the theft of several guns and illegal narcotics.

Chief Jimmy Travis said the investigation began on Thursday, June 24.

During the investigation, a suspect and a possible location of the stolen goods were identified. One of the suspects has been identified as Timothy Berry, 40, of Muscarello Lane in Hammond.

A search warrant for the residence was obtained on Monday, June 28 with assistance from the Hammond Police Department. Upon contact, several subjects occupying the residence were detained pending investigation. The subjects were identified as Timothy Berry, 40, Renata Berry, 40, and Renata Berry, 40.

The search revealed numerous elements of probative value throughout the residence. Detectives seized several guns, ammunition and a large quantity of illegal narcotics. Several of the guns were later identified as having been stolen from various locations in Tangipahoa parish. It has also been discovered that Timothy Berry is a convicted felon who is on active parole in the state of Louisiana.

During the search, detectives were taken to a second address on Muscarello Lane, where a search warrant was obtained and executed. In contact with residents identified as Rachel Ziglar, 19, Elizabeth Tullos, 22, and Cortez Walker, 29.

During the execution of the search warrant, detectives located several small amounts of illegal narcotics.

The following subjects were arrested and charged:

Timothy Berry of Hammond, Louisiana has been charged with:

Possession of marijuana (2 counts)

Possession of Schedule I drugs (heroin)

Possession of Schedule II narcotics

Possession of Schedule III narcotics

Possession with intent to distribute Schedule I drugs (heroin)

Possession with intent to distribute Schedule I narcotics (marijuana)

Felon convicted of possession of a firearm (12 counts)

Possession of a weapon while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance (4 counts)

Possession of a stolen firearm (5 counts)

Renata Berry of Hammond, Louisiana has been charged with:

Possession of marijuana (2 counts)

Possession of Schedule I drugs (heroin)

Possession of Schedule II narcotics

Possession of Schedule III narcotics

Possession with intent to distribute Schedule I drugs (heroin)

Possession with intent to distribute Schedule I narcotics (marijuana)

Possession of a weapon while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance (4 counts)

Possession of a stolen firearm (5 counts)
