SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – A business venture inspired by a friend seeking to eliminate his aggression has now turned into something more.
“I had a friend in desperate need of it and she was looking for one in Atlanta,” said Smash and Dash owner Tiffany Noell. “I had never heard of a smash room, I looked for it and said, we have to have one, Savannah needs it.”
Smash and Dash, brought to you by Smithereens, works from a pop-up unit where they bring the party to life. The tent is closed, equipped with an air conditioning element.
“What happens is you wear full protective gear and you have gloves, shoes, hat, helmet and face shield, so it totally protects you from all the crushed debris,” he said. declared Noell. “You walk into the tent and then you’ll have a variety of things to break. “
Smash and Dash is teaming up with The Salvation Army and a local bar, Bootleggers of Pooler, for some of their bestselling items.
Noell said they even received unexpected donations.
“People call us out of the blue and say, ‘Hey, I have a 55 inch TV, do you want it? “”
Smash and Dash said their main goal is to keep as many items out of the landfill.
“We take these items that people no longer want, which are not salable, but can be used to release stress, and then we plan to remove that debris and create a range of recycled art and gardening materials,” Noell said. . “One of the next steps for our business is to find a way to recycle all of this so it doesn’t make the waste problem worse.”
Some things you can break include:
- Beer / alcohol bottles
- Kitchen appliances
- TVs and monitors
- Printers and copiers
- Children’s toy
