Commanders

HC Commanders Ron Rivera says that WR Curtis-Samuel was sidelined from Wednesday’s practice as a precaution after suffering a groin injury last season.

“Curtis was a day off [Wednesday] out of an abundance of caution, Rivera said, via Commanders Wire. “He had a very good day on Monday. I worked very hard, uh, arrived the next day. He was a little tight, and talking with him and, and, and talking with [Trainer] Al Bellamy, you know, we decided, hey, let’s just be smart. We had a very good off-season. He has participated; he was in the middle of everything. So, we backed off, and we thought we would back off those two days, and we’re really looking forward to seeing him back on the pitch at minicamp on Tuesday.

Rivera added that Samuel was not feeling any pain in his groin and was only from the amount of work he had done on Monday.

“No, the pain is from work,” said Rivera. “Okay. He came in, he had, like I said, he had a really big day on Monday and when he came out he just said, I feel tense, I’m in pain in general And so that was just one of the things we just said, look, we had a really, really good run with him. Let’s just be smart. And see if we can get him back ready to go on Tuesday.

Eagles

Eagles LB Cox Fletcher said he was released this offseason and re-signed due to a missed deadline to restructure his contract.

“It was just one of those things where they were trying to get things done,” Cox said, via EJ Smith of the Philadelphia Inquirer. “I knew the team wanted me here, but just, what we had, there was a deadline before we could get things done.”

Cox mentioned that his agent, Todd Franceattempted to work on a restructured deal with GM Howie Roseman until the deadline.

“Everything was respectively professional,” said Cox. “I knew days or maybe a week or so before we were trying to get things done, Todd and [general manager Howie Roseman] and organization. It got to a point where, it was 4 or 5, I got notified by my agent and all that, we kind of knew it was going to be okay.

Cox was convinced he would return to Philadelphia.

“I knew it was possible for things to work out” said Cox. “When you’re a free agent, teams reach out. It’s part of the process; I understand. But the Eagles wanted me here, and I’m back now and getting ready to go to training camp.

giants

  • Giants QB Daniel Jones learns to get down to the ground earlier to avoid running injuries: “I think more than anything it’s just about being aware of certain situations and making the decision to go down early. I think there are things you can watch on tape and learn from, and I will continue to learn. (Professional Football Discussion)
