Newark, Bronx Men arrested in Verona for vehicle burglary and possession of weapons



Verona police announce the arrest of two suspects in connection with a vehicle burglary on Thursday morning.

According to police, at around 5 a.m. this morning Constable Salduttto and Lt. Greco responded to a report of individuals attempting to break into motor vehicles.

Police officials said Constable Saldutto observed an individual next to an open car door at one of the properties.

Further investigation at the scene, which included home camera footage and viewing the proceeds of the burglary in plain sight, led to the arrests of Charles Pugsley, 23, of Newark and Daniel Gomez, 26. , of the Bronx, New York.

Police say a search of the suspect’s vehicle revealed a loaded handgun located under the driver’s seat.

Police said an extra magazine containing 30 rounds of ammunition was found in a bag in Mr Pugsley’s possession.

The two defendants were charged with numerous burglary, theft and weapons offenses and transported to Essex County Jail.

These charges are just accusations, and both are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court.
