New Ventures awards scholarship to Troup High graduate – LaGrange Daily News


New Ventures, Inc. today announced the winner of the Richardson Memorial Scholarship, according to a press release.

Zach Taylor of LaGrange received a one-time prize of $1,000. Scholarship applicants were evaluated based on community service, academic achievement, extracurricular achievement, and leadership.

Taylor is a graduate of the Troup High School class of 2022. He plans to attend Georgia Tech to study psychology.

In addition to his outstanding academic achievements throughout his high school career, he was heavily involved in community service and extracurricular activities. Taylor was also among the troupe’s ambassadors, who supported THS’s exceptional education students. Upon completion of his chosen degree program, Taylor indicated that he wanted to receive a Chartered Professional Counselor (LPC) designation and open his own private practice in LaGrange to give back to the community.

The Richardson Memorial Fellowship, established in 2019, honors the life and legacy of Doug Richardson, a New Ventures employee for 37 years and a friend to all he met.

According to the statement, Richardson was known for his service to the community, his generous heart and his passion for helping others. Fellows are young women and men who exemplify these characteristics of community care, service and helping others.
