A 30-year-old New Jersey man in possession of child pornography directed the sexual abuse of a 5-year-old child, authorities said.

Kevin Pearsall, of Trenton, was arrested Feb. 11 at a Hamilton store where he worked after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children informed the Mercer County District Attorney’s Office that he was distributing child pornography, reports officials announced Wednesday.

Investigators obtained a search warrant, seized his phone and found 30 explicit videos, including one he allegedly shared, the prosecution said in a statement.

As the investigation continued, detectives learned that Pearsall was discussing child sexual abuse with another person, authorities said.

“Evidence has been obtained that Pearsall actively promoted and directed the sexual assault and abuse of a 5-year-old child during the conversation with this other individual,” the statement read.

Pearsall is charged with a slew of offenses of possession and distribution of child pornography, as well as aggravated sexual assault as an accomplice, conspiracy to commit aggravated sexual assault and endangering well-being. of a child.

At a detention hearing last week, he was ordered held pending trial.
