IPL 2022 Mega Auction: Nita Ambani shows off ‘most prized possession of the day’ at IPL 2022 Mega Auction

Nita Ambani, Owner of Mumbai Indians (MI), made a grand entrance to take part in the 2022 Indian Premier League Mega Auction underway in Bengaluru on Saturday.

Dressed in a pastel blue trouser suit with white trim and the Mumbai Indians logo, the philanthropist-businesswoman walked in style to form her MI team. She completed her look with a tote-style bag and a white mask.

Later in the day, the President and Founder of the Reliance Foundation showed off her “most prized possession of the day” – Ishan Kishan. He returns to MI after being acquired for a whopping Rs 15.25 crore.

“Our story has only just begun,” Kishan also posted in a heartwarming message.

Ambani’s eldest son and Isha Ambani’s twin Akash Ambani were also present at the ongoing IPL mega auction.

The official MI Twitter account shared a photo of Ambani Jr with former cricketer and MI cricket operations manager Zaheer Khan, former Sri Lankan player and head coach Mahela Jayawardena and Devang Bhimjyani, manager by Reliance Sports and Lifestyle.

Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings had engaged in a bidding war for South African goalkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock but later Lucknow Super Giants bought him for Rs 6.75 crore. The cricketer was previously part of the Mumbai team.

MI also attempted to acquire New Zealand pacemaker Trent Boul but the Rajasthan Royals won the bid for Rs 8 crore.

Mumbai was also interested in buying Australian cricketer David Warner but Delhi secured him for Rs 6.25 crore.

Soon after, memes and jokes started doing the rounds.

From not being able to attract desirable players to enter with his bag full of cash, the Meme Lords were busy at work.

Netizens praised the MI team and Ms Ambani for following Covid protocols and wearing a mask.

When someone joked that the Ambani were trying to save money this time, users continued to defend her.
