Global investment firm Azura has established an operation in Geneva, Switzerland, with the aim of “supporting business growth and better serving its international clientele.”
The company, which serves ultra high networth (UHNW) and single-family offices, is the first to receive a license from the Federal Financial Market Supervisory Authority (Fimma) controlled by a supervisory body in French-speaking Switzerland, and the one of the three in the country as a whole.
Geneva is Azura’s fourth office in the world, after its existing offices in London, Monaco and Singapore.
The hub will expand Azura’s global solutions offering in terms of investment management, private wealth solutions and strategic opportunities.
Ali Jamal, President, CEO and Founder of Azura, said, “As we pursue our goal of building a global community for UHNW entrepreneurs and single-family offices to access innovative investment solutions and to relationships of trust, Geneva represents an important financial capital for our client base.
“Switzerland’s talent pool, intellectual capital and regulatory framework make the region an essential location for wealth management companies. As one of the first independent companies to operate in the country under this Finma license, we are delighted to be setting the stage for something new here.
The Geneva office will be headed by Frédéric Turrettini, who joins Azura as a partner, supported by a newly formed team.
As part of his role, Turrettini will be responsible for developing Azura’s Swiss presence.
He comes from Credit Suisse, where he was director of UHNW Suisse romande and deputy director of UHNW Switzerland.
Turrettini said: “We are seeing a lot of changes within large financial institutions, especially after covid, creating a need for independent companies to offer access to investment solutions.
“We saw an opportunity here. I am delighted to join Azura, whose independent platform and diverse team will enable us to achieve our common goal of building lasting relationships with our clients with a focus on excellence.
